Magnificent, much sought after series of classic stories for children, narrated by celebrities. There's a cult following for these.
The condition is not always perfect, especially with the earliest ones. We try to reflect this in the options and price. In some cases, the storybooks may be in good condition but the colouring-in pages have been spoiled or removed. If these pages are important to you, it's probably best to enquire first. Where more than one is available, we will always choose the item which, in our opinion, is in best condition. Tapes are increasingly unreliable these days. Therefore, with the copyright owner's permission, for every original tape purchased, we will always include, free of charge, a backup CD or DVD with files for each tape in MP3 format, with good sound quality.
Each issue contains a rich mixture of classical and original stories, with specially commissioned illustrations from some of the best artists working in children's books at the time (early 80s). All the recordings come to life with the voices of well-known actors and actresses bringing their own unique style to the performances. A running serial ensures interest is kept across all the issues.
The storybook with colouring pages adds charm to the series. We have priced this separately from the cassette tape as some customers do not require both.
For ease of identification, we give the title of just the classic fairy story, though each issue has actually six or seven separate stories. We also give one or two of the narrators, as they appear. For information, the figures in brackets after each option give the current stock level. If we have neither storybook nor cassette, the listing is usually suspended. If an issue number appears but there's no basket, it's usually a sign that item is unavailable.
If the availability figure for an item shows zero (0), this means we are out of stock at the present time.
