Great Writers (Marshall Cavendish)

Marshall Cavendish partwork

Superb collection of 55 classic books (with accompanying magazine) that comprise “The Great Writers” series exclusively published by Marshall Cavendish from 1986 to 1988.

The books represent some of the greatest works of fiction ever written in the English language. Each book has a beautiful hard cover in colour imitation leather with gold coloured lettering on the front cover and spine as well as a lovely colour illustration on the front cover. This collection also includes an illustrated 24 page magazine covering the lives, works and inspirations of each writer as well as focusing on one key work in detail (normally the novel accompanying the magazine). The magazines are housed in 4 purpose binders to form a comprehensive reference library of celebrated authors.

We have many of these in good condition. For convenience, we present options for purchasing the books and magazines separately or combined.

Bit puzzling this one. We knew of the magazine and also a fairly thick paperback with all the stories listed below. Then we discovered a slim hardback version which matches the rest of the series but contains only some of these stories. An eagle-eyed customer has since pointed out to us that the hardback came in two volumes. Initially, we only ever came across Volume 2 (which corresponds with the bold list below). Just recently, we found what is obviously Volume 1 containing the titles listed but not emboldened. We have listed the paperback and hardback versions separately but if you require the book + magazine option you'll need to tell us which book you require.
