From the partwork experts, this series in 52 issues did a great job introducing young people to good music.
Beautifully illustrated, the storybook provides an imaginative insight into the work being performed and is brought alive by the voices of actors used to accompany the music on recorded medium. The booklet also gives background to the composer, the inspiration for the work and even a short part of the musical score with an easyplay guide for recorder or keyboard. The rear cover introduces an orchestral instrument. "The use of music is subtle and effective and placed within a story telling context rather than educational instruction." - Tim Crook, Director & Producer The Wizard's Spell
This set could easily acquire the same sort of cult status as Storyteller. No surprise, it's very popular with music teachers. We list the storybook and recording separately, with an option to buy the accompanying CD or cassette as an added extra. Unfortunately, the CDs are highly sought after, so don't be too surprised if we have none in stock. Some are more popular than others and are therefore priced accordingly. For information, we include the current stock level in brackets after the item. Unusually, the earlier issues seem in greater demand than the later ones, so prices reflect their rarity value. Please look carefully at the stock figures before ordering. Sometimes, even when the storybook is unavailable, there may still be a CD or cassette. If we have nothing for a title in stock we will usually suspend the listing altogether. We try to keep the stock figures up to date but, at busy times, there may be some discrepancies. We will not take a payment until we are sure your order can be satisfied.
