BACKMAGS

magazine back issues

We once ran a sister site called www.backmags.co.uk. It grew too big so we decided to split off all the partwork collections into this new e-shop and leave backmags to handle genuine back numbers of traditional magazines.

Back magazine issues is a huge field and no one can cater for all needs. We have trusted associates we work with occasionally and we're happy to provide links to their services. So, if you can't find what you want from us, try one of the following:-

Antique Dealers & Collectors Guide

We have a large number of these going back to 1963 and right through the late 60s, 70s and early 80s, with very few gaps. Most are in good nick but a few show signs of age and wear. Priced at only £1 each (before discount), you'll have to take pot luck on condition. There are also several original marroon binders, if you're really keen.

The Antique Collector

No binders for these but we have them more or less complete from December 1976 to the end of 1983.

These old antiques mags don't move very fast so we're using them as shelf supports. This means it could be very tricky to extricate the one you're after. Please check with us before ordering in case (as happened recently) someone just wanted one mag sent to Paris and it was sitting with half a ton of boxes resting on top of it! We don't have time to enter details of each one but if you're looking for a specific article and know roughly when it appeared, use the 'contact' button and, as long as you're not in a hurry, we'll do our best to find it. If you don't see the issue you're after, it's worth asking anyway, in case we've missed it.

Summit

British Mountaineering Council

We've picked up the first 24 issues of "Summit", a quarterly membership magazine published by the British Mountaineering Council, beginning with Issue 1, from 1996, to Issue 24 from the Winter of 2001. Perfect opportunity for enthusiasts to build their collection backwards.

"Summit is the membership magazine of the BMC and is sent quarterly to all Individual Members, plus Club Members once a year. It's purpose is to keep members informed of the latest work of the BMC, get across some good practice and safety information, and hopefully provide a good read."

£2 each or you can have the whole run for £15 + postage.

Please use 'Contact' to enquire.

Teddy Bears

We've just acquired a large collection of mags from a Teddy Bears collector, going back to the First issue of the Hugglets Teddy Bear Magazine in 1990, together with a few binders, in tip top condition.

RSPB magazines

Royal Society for the Protection of Birds

We've taken delivery of some back issues of the quarterly magazine from RSPB, covering the 1980s, early 90s and the last four years (up to Summer 2004). We also have a few RSPB magazine binders, unnumbered so they can be used for any two-year period.

To assist identification, when listed we give the bird species appearing on the front cover. If you need more help finding a specific article, feel free to use 'contact' to get in touch.

As bird lovers ourselves, we intend donating 50p for each issue sold, to the RSPB.
